With Paul as your guide, you will be taken around the nearby farms in search of the day-roosting owls. You will learn about the owl's behavior, where they build their nests and what they prefer to eat. A visit can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an entire day depending on your level of interest. As the Owlspot is located in the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains, it is also an easily accessible place for birding enthusiasts to see species unique to the area, including little rock thrush, African black duck, giant kingfisher and more.. |

Started as an eco-tourism project in 1997 by local farmer and conservationist Paul Muriithi as a way to encourage his community to protect owls and their habitat, the Owlspot takes advantage of a unique opportunity to view cliff-dwelling eagle owls in the wild.
