In November 2007, Darcy Ogada attended the World Owl Conference held in the Netherlands. Her attendance at the conference was sponsored by the Netherlands embassy in Kenya and the conference organizers. She presented her and Paul’s work on Mackinder’s eagle owls in central Kenya. Meeting owl researchers from throughout the world enabled her to compare notes particularly regarding eagle owl ecology and behaviour with other researchers working in Mongolia and India. It was a fantastic conference and great opportunity to meet with owl researchers that she previously only knew through emails! ‘Looking forward to the next conference in 2010!!’
